Farah Abbas has counseled business people and executives from around the world on how to build capacity in the United States. There are multiple avenues to come to the United States temporarily to expand an existing company’s operations or to start a new company.
Ms. Abbas handles such business immigration matters, including:
- E-1 Treaty Trader and E-2 Treaty Investor Visas; and
- L-1 Intracompany Transferee Visas.
The E-1 Treaty Trader and E-2 Treaty Investor program allows nationals of certain countries to come to the United States on a non-immigrant visa to engage in certain business activities. Your country of nationality must have a requisite treaty with the United States for you to be able to participate in the program.
The L-1 Intracompany Transferee program allows a company outside the United States to send its executives, managers or employees with specialized knowledge to the United States on a non-immigrant visa to setup or manage a branch, subsidiary, or affiliate of the company.
There are many options to come to the United States and partake in business activities, but it is critical to determine the appropriate visa program for your professional goals as well as your personal and family situation.
